Remember those family addresses and telephone numbers? You need them to contact moms to request their soldier’s addresses. We are currently collecting white socks in the school district to send to our soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Events

• We have planned three dedication ceremonies as we add military personnel to the “Wall.”
• We planned a Candlelight Vigil on March 19, 2008 to show our support of our troops serving in harm’s way.
• We were invited to read the names of the military personnel on the “Wall” as part of a Flag Retirement program May 26, 2008.
• Our Wall of Heroes was recognized during a school Veteran’s Day program, and some of our troops visited classrooms.
• We instituted a letter writing campaign during the 2007-08 school year in our local school district. Every one of the soldiers on our “Wall” received letters, poems, drawings, essays and greeting cards.
• We collected over 800 pairs of white crew socks in our district's elementary schools during June 2008, and our local American Legion mailed them to our guys and gals serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
